Description

We have all at some point in our careers reviewed a return we were preparing and said this does not look good. We are even reluctant to file it when we know full well there is nothing incorrect, it just looks bad. Sometimes we may even want to ignore a deduction to make it look better. In this session we will review areas that the IRS is looking at and how to best present the information on the tax return as well as what to request from our clients now just in case the IRS comes a knocking later.

Learning Objectives

  1. Learn how to review a return for audit potential.

  2. Learn what is being examined and what is needed

  3. Learn what to ask your client for now and why to support any concerns you may have.

  4. Learn that it is always better to be prepared and not need it than need it and not be prepared.
